William T. "Bill" Bidstrup age 70, of Deerfield, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. He was born August 30, 1954 in Chicago to Richard and Marilyn (nee Murphy) Bidstrup.
Bill was a fun-loving, jovial, and flirtatious soul, always the life of the party. His larger-than-life personality and infectious charm drew people to him wherever he went. Whether he was imitating Jerry Lewis with his iconic "Ladyyyyy!" or channeling his inner Borat, Bill was always willing to do whatever it took to make those around him laugh. His love for humor and fun never knew bounds, and his friends and family will forever cherish the sound of his hearty laughter.
A passionate fan of Classic Rock, Bill was undoubtedly the best air drummer in the world. He could be found in his element, drumming along to his favorite tunes with unmatched enthusiasm. For 15 years, Bill proudly delivered beer for the Miller Beer Company, living by the motto "The Good Life." His coworkers loved him dearly, especially during their traditional "War Pig" party, where Bill earned the nickname "Beast," a title that stuck with him as a symbol of his larger-than-life spirit.
Bill enjoyed many things in life, from fast walking at Chevy Chase Golf Course to swimming, baking, and gardening. He took great pride in caring for his garden, creating spaces that mirrored his warm, loving nature. He was a loyal fan of Chicago's teams—the Bears, Cubs, and White Sox—often bringing his enthusiasm for the game into every home gathering.
Bill's love story with his wife, Tere, began on a bus trip to a White Sox game. After 12 years of dating, she finally said yes at another Sox game, and together they became the "Tere-Bill" couple. They shared a special bond, rooted in deep love, mutual respect, and a shared joy for life.
He was a proud father, and his girls were the apples of his eye. He loved letting them play hooky from school for their ghost-hunting adventures or to watch the Cubs rule the field. His joy for life was reflected in his time spent with them—decorating the Christmas tree while watching White Christmas, playing in the sun, and living life to its fullest. Bill was truly a "Sun God," always happiest outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of nature. Door County was always his home away from home, where he was welcomed by the blue waters of Lake Michigan and Green Bay.
Bill's tenderness, kindness, and ability to make everyone around him feel special will never be forgotten. He was a man who brought joy, laughter, and love wherever he went. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Devoted husband of Tere (nee Lange) Bidstrup. Loving dad of Amanda (Gustavo) Cortinas and Marta Bidstrup. Eager grandpa to be of Violeta. Proud puppy grandpa to Indica and Brea. Kind brother, uncle, cousin, and a friend to many.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Claudia Bidstrup.
