William Brent Bauer, age 66, of Glenview, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chicago on November 16, 1959, to the late Marshall Bauer and Sandra Lippe. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Stewart on July 22, 1989, in Arrowhead, Colorado. 

Devoted husband of 37 years of Elizabeth. Loving father of Zack (Zoe Larsen) and Maya. Fond brother of Jay (Claudia) Bauer, Jodi (Scott Kauffman) Boudart. Stepbrother of Suzanne Lippe, Michael (Lisa) Lippe, and Deanna (Warren Wallace) Lippe. Kind brother-in-law of Catharine (Bob) Johnson, Jessie (Tim) Flanagan, and Becca (Charlie) Brandes. Caring uncle of Julian (Julie) Bauer, Andrew (Julia) Bauer, Gemma (Kevin) Korus, Brooke (Jeffrey) Holmes, Brett (Karly) Boudart, Tyler (Eleanore) Boudart, Nicholas Johnson, Zoe (Kevin) Bloom, Valerie (Hunter) Richards, Christopher (Morghan) Flanagan, and Rebecca Flanagan. Great-uncle of 18 with 2 babies on the way. 

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Marshall and Sandra, and his nephew Luke Flanagan.

A private Shiva will be held for friends and family at the lake house on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and continuing on Saturday, August 8th from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life honoring Billy's love of music will be held this Fall with a date and location TBD.
