Mr. Stephen Russell Hackert, age 55, formerly of Wheeling, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born June 19, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Russell Richard Hackert and Arlene Marie Marchi Hackert. Mr. Hackert was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed rock music, loved animals and liked cooking and preparing food for family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Arlene Marie Marchi Hackert (late Russell Hackert) of Douglasville; his sister and brother-in-law, Kristen and Bert Garnes of Atlanta; and his brother, Paul Hackert of Douglasville. According to his wishes, Mr. Hackert will be cremated.
