In Loving Memory of Rosabella Garcia
April 11, 2025 – Lawrenceburg, Tennessee
There are some souls who walk this earth as quiet beacons—lighting the way with warmth, joy, and unwavering love. Rosabella Garcia was such a soul.
Born in the Philippines to the late Martin and Milagros Bavar, Rosabella entered this world as the eldest of six children—a role she carried with great strength and boundless heart. Even as a young girl, she seemed to carry the world on her shoulders, yet she did so with a smile that could soften any burden. From early on, it was clear she had the spirit of a nurturer, the hands of a helper, and the heart of a dreamer.
Life did not hand Rosabella easy paths, but she walked each one with grace. Her resilience was not loud—it was quiet and steady, the kind that moves mountains not for recognition, but for love. She came to the United States in 1965 with $25. She had hope and determination, not just for herself, but for her entire family. Through sacrifice and sheer will, she helped bring most of them to the U.S., ensuring they, too, could build lives filled with opportunity.
Her greatest joy came when she stepped into the sacred role of motherhood. It was then that Rosabella came fully into bloom, pouring every ounce of herself into the lives of her children and, later, her beloved grandchildren. Her presence was their anchor—strong, soft, and full of light. She led by example, embodying faith, love, and forgiveness in every season of life.
Even as dementia began to dim the edges of memory, Rosabella's light never faded. Her love remained radiant, expressed through joyful dancing, heartfelt songs, and a constant, glowing tenderness. She reminded those around her that while the mind may forget, the heart always remembers.
She was also a writer—a woman who understood the power of words and their ability to warm, comfort, and inspire. Among her most treasured works was a book called Love, Lola. It's filled with letters to her first grandchild and lovingly dedicated to her grandchildren. It captures stories of her life and lessons that she's learned along the way that they now hold dear. Another book told of a unique angel with purple wings, celebrating the beauty of embracing oneself just as God made you. These books live in the hearts—and hands—of her family, a legacy that will echo for generations.
Rosabella Garcia lived a life of service, joy, and deep, abiding love. Her journey on earth may have come to an end on April 11, 2025, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, but her story continues in the laughter of her grandchildren, the courage of those she helped, and the endless love she gave so freely.
She leaves behind a legacy not written in stone, but in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the joy she spread like sunlight wherever she went.
May her soul dance in peace and sing among the angels.
