Obituary

Nancy L. Wagner, age 71, passed away peacefully while at home in Chicago surrounded by loved ones on February 28th, 2021. Nancy was born in Park Ridge and enjoyed most of her adult life in Deerfield, IL. She is predeceased by her husband, Barry Wagner, and son, William "Billy" McPherron. She is survived by her beloved second son, William Balcazar. Professionally she was admired amongst educators and students as an administrator at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL for over 30 years. Her care for students was always evident during her career and throughout her retirement. After the passing of her husband and son, she established college scholarship funds for Stevenson High School students. Nancy had a love for spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, being outside, and caring for her dogs. Nancy had an energetic and passionate personality and was known for her ability to sense when someone needed her help. Nancy touched many people throughout her life with her kindness, generosity, and compassion. She will be greatly missed. Memorial Visitation Friday, March 5th at 12:30 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling. We will proceed to Willow Lawn Cemetery at 1:15 pm for a 1:45 pm graveside service. Friends and family are welcome to continue celebrating Nancy's life at Hitz Restaurant in Mundelein. A scholarship in Nancy's name has been established for students at Stevenson High School. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's name can be made at StevensonFoundation.org/Donate towards the Wagner-McPherron Family Scholarship. Proper funeral attire and mask required, please follow social distancing guidelines.
