Obituary

Fran "Mary Frances" McDermott, age 85 of Mt. Prospect was born in Chicago on April 3rd, 1941. Beloved wife of the late Peter R. McDermott and sister to the late Edward Velten. Dedicated loving mother of Laurie (Brad Dillman) McDermott and Peter A. (Victoria) McDermott. Adored grandmother of Travis McDermott, Rebecca McDermott, Ty Dillman, Meg Dillman, and Roc Dillman and great grandmother of Julianna Rae Nicholas and Nico Pizzala. Fran was also a loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Fran was known for her kind spirit and her strong silent demeanor. An avid reader, Fran's quiet strength was matched only by the warmth she offered everyone who knew her. She had a way of making everyone feel like family, even when you were not, her door, and her heart, were always open, as she loved by her patience, loyalty, and quiet grace.

Raised with immigrant parents, Fran believed in doing what was right and offered support to all without expectations. With her beloved husband by her side, Fran adored family and friends and kept them close. She will be missed by many young and old.
