Karen Ann Zack nee Kalinoski, of Long Grove, passed away on November 6, 2025, very peacefully, at home. She was 76 years old.
Karen was the beloved wife of the late Peter James Zack. She was the loving mom of Tony (Kim) Zack and Jamie (AJ) Pecora. She was the adored Gramma of Peter, Madison, Christopher and Allison. She was also the admired Gram Ma Ma of Lily Goose and Bentley.
Karen was the cherished sister and sister-in-law of Raymond (Doris) Kalinoski, Susan (late Dean) Stephenitch, Bruce (Nancy) Kalinoski, Roberta (late Ron) Schmidt, Paul (Bev) Zack and Terri (George) Brugioni.
She was an amazing aunt to Robb (Alissa) Stephenitch, Cory Kalinoski, Joel Stephenitch, Holly Kalinoski, Michael (Marlena) Schmidt, Christopher (Liz) Brugioni, Jeff (Carolyn) Brugioni, Greg (Deb) Zack, Jill (Tommy) Schmidt-Peske, Yvette (Eric) Melkerson, Tim Zack and the late Theisa Sorby. Fond cousin and the kindest friend of many.
Karen was an amazing cook and could bake absolutely anything to perfection. She was definitely a poet and did not know it. Any party or event that Karen planned was unimaginable. Most often, it was a bit over budget though!! She was not a lover of the sun, which is why some noticed she did not have one wrinkle on her face. One of Karen's favorite past times was sitting on the couch in Galena reading a good book. Peter, Madison, Christopher and Allison were each a "diamond in the sky!"
