John Donald Moore, age 74 of Wheeling, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025. He was born in Harvey, IL on January 15, 1951, to the late Donald and Lizetta Moore. Devoted husband of over 51 years to Nancy Moore, nee Hof. Loving father to Christopher (Katie) and grandfather to Cooper. Dearest brother to Donna and Jeffrey (Nancy) Moore. Fond brother-in-law to Dennis Hof. Kind uncle to Natalie (Reuben) Hof, Douglas (Kerry), Thomas (Kealy) and Julia (Dan) Moore. Caring cousin, great-uncle, and beloved friend to many. John followed his passion and became an excellent historian. His curiosity was boundless and he was always learning. He shared his passion at the library with his History Revealed series of talks. John's ashes will be returned to places he enjoyed and loved. A celebration of John's life will be held later. Thank you to everyone who knew and cared for him.
