Jimilee Patterson (née Chevalier) of Springfield, IL, age 93, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of faith, laughter, and devotion to family.
She was the loving mother of Jim (Linn) Patterson, Mike (Tracee) Patterson, and John Patterson. She was a cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn (Noah), Malinda, Makala, Tobin, Nathan, and Cameron, and a proud great-grandmother of Sutton. Sister of Bob (Sandy) Chevalier and the late Jerry (Carol) Chevalier; the late Jan Patton and her late husband, Bob; and the late Juliane Van Houten and her late husband, Freeman. Aunt, cousin, and friend to many; her life touched countless people.
Jimilee was a joy to be around—warm, funny, and genuinely caring. She had a way of making people smile without even trying; her kindness made others feel at ease. She will be remembered for her steady love, quick wit, and gentle strength.
A woman of faith and service, Jimilee was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield, where she found community, purpose, and friendship. She loved singing in the choir, sharing her voice in worship.
A lifelong fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball, she especially enjoyed watching them play, cheering with the loyalty only a true fan can muster.
Jimilee worked for Women's Healthcare in medical office administration and retired in 2004 after many years of service.
A Life Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, March 14th, at Springfield First United Methodist Church, 2941 South Koke Mill Road, Springfield, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.
