Glen Anthony Katte passed away at the age of 80 in Wauconda, Illinois, on March 1, 2026, after a short period in hospice care.
Born on February 9, 1946, in Rockford, Illinois, to Wilbert and Elizabeth (Pauzon) Katte, Glen completed his undergraduate studies in History and Philosophy at Northern Illinois University (NIU) and continued graduate studies at NIU and the University of Chicago. From 1970 to 1992, he was married to Susan (Borgeson) Katte, with whom he had two daughters, Beth and Kimberly. Other survivors include a grandson, Nicholas Cuenca Katte.
Working different jobs in finance, Glen lived in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago for most of his life. He enjoyed physical activity in nature, documentary programs, and international cuisine. Glen was preceded in death by his parents and by his younger brothers, Alan and Bruce.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden of Rockford, Illinois.
