Geraldine "Gerry" May, a proud graduate of Saint Benedict High School, Chicago, Class of 1965, and the University of Illinois, was a devoted mother to Brian (Sharon) May. She was the cherished sister of Barbara (late Jerome) Zapszalka, Marian (late Mark) Jacob, and the late Bill Olson. A beloved aunt to Julie (Mark) Weissmann and Donna (Jeff) Beckert. Great aunt to Brandon and Justin Weissmann, Jeffery and Joshua Beckert. Gerry's family meant everything to her. Gerry's career path was centered in the insurance industry, where she shared her many talents with companies like John Hancock, Allstate, BMS, and Hewitt Associates. Outside of work, Gerry found joy in reading, cooking, baking, and solving puzzles. A true friend to all, she was always there for her neighbors and family—whether grocery shopping, driving someone to a doctor's appointment, helping navigate a computer, or making and freezing meals for others. Her motto was "a friend in need is a friend indeed," and she lived that philosophy every day. Her kind heart and unwavering support touched everyone she met, and she will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 27th at 10 am at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8S055 Dugan Rd., Sugar Grove, IL 60554.
