Geraldine Mary Idstein nee Driscoll was born on April 7, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MN to the late Katherine (Buggie) and late Roy Driscoll. Beloved wife of the late Richard Idstein for 73 years. Loving mother Kathleen (Thomas) Lyons, James (Lynn) Idstein, and Donald (Mary) Idstein. Dear grandmother of Roy, Katie (Steve), Brian (Jeanah), Karen (Freddie), Monica, and Joseph. Great grandmother of Heather, Sorin, Charlotte, Kevin, Anne Marie, Jordan, and Taylor. Fond sister of Colleen (late Richard) Theriault and John (late Marion) Driscoll. Loving aunt and cousin of many. Geraldine was a Minister of Care at St. Mary Catholic Church in Buffalo Grove from 1984 to present. She was the Coordinator of Minister of Care for 10 years in the early 2000's. She received the Christifideles Award from Cardinal George, Archdiocese of Chicago on October 17, 2004. She also received the Golden Rose from the Archdiocese of Chicago Council of Catholic Women in 2015. Visitation Friday, February 14th from 3 pm to 8 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S Milwaukee Ave (2 Blocks South of Dundee Road), Wheeling. A visitation will continue the following day at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10 N Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove. A life celebration mass will follow at 11 am. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Geraldine would appreciate flowers or mass cards in her name.
