It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Galina Petrusenko age 56 of Wheeling, IL on July 12, 2025. Galina was surrounded by her loved ones on her journey. Born December 16, 1968, Galina was a beloved wife of Boris Svirskiy for 18 years. Loving step mother of Aleks (Erin) Svirskiy and Diana (Shahin) Badiei. Fond sister of Elena (Vsassily) Shuvalov. Cousin and friend of many. She touched the lives of many with her love of life, kindness and outgoing nature. Galina was an excellent cook who embraced her Russian heritage. She loved music, nature, traveling and fashion. She loved being a nurse and her colleagues were her second family. Although Galina is gone, she will live in our hearts forever. Visitation Thursday July 17th 2025 from 9:00am at Kolssak Funeral Home. 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (2 blocks south of Dundee Rd) Wheeling, followed by a Life Celebration Service at 11:00am, followed by burial at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
