Edward I. Armitage, age 86, of Phoenix formerly of Wheeling. Loving husband of Patricia nee Dubina for 58 years. Cherished father of Kathryn (Dale) Joosten, Karen (Gerard) LaFond, and Andrew (Andi) Armitage. Proud grandfather of Lukas and Lexi Joosten, Grace LaFond, and Gigi and Enzo Armitage. Beloved son of the late Kate and Robert J. Armitage. He will be dearly missed by his family and many dear friends. Ed was as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force, police officer at UIC and proudly served as a sergeant and retired from the Highland Park Police Department in 1989. Visitation Friday 3-8pm at Kolssak Funeral Home 189 S Milwaukee Ave. Wheeling, Il. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10am until a Life Celebration Service at 11:30am at the funeral home.
