Douglas J. Harmer, age 69, of Arlington Heights, passed away February 6, 2026 at New Summit Rehab/Hospice, Arlington Heights. He was born August 18, 1956, in Chicago, IL to Harold and Marilyn nee Karz Harmer. On September 26, 1992 he married the love of his life Bev Weisman. He was the loving and devoted husband of 33 years to Bev Harmer. Loving four legged fur baby father of Harley and Elvis. Caring brother of Merrille (Bill) Martinez, Richard (the late Kendra) Harmer, and the late Nancy (late Anthony) Davis. Kind brother-in-law of Dr. Robert (Hillary) Weisman and Michael (Jeanne) Weisman. Loving uncle of Michael, Cassandra (David), Candace, Jason, Joshua, Greg (Tami), Carrie (Brandon), Jay (Loren) and Molly (Larry). Doting great-uncle of Samantha (Jesus), Julie, Sebastian, Selena (Isaac), Darian, Claire, Daphne, Layla, Carter, Avery, and Chloe. Fun great-great-uncle of J.J., Thayla, Skye, and Sieanna. Kind friend to many. Visitation Wednesday, February 11th from 3 pm to 8 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S Milwaukee Ave (2 Blocks South of Dundee Road), Wheeling. Visitation will continue the following morning at 10 am, followed by an 11 am life celebration service. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, donations to Make-A-Wish Foundation and Brookfield Zoo are greatly appreciated.
