Denise J. McCue nee Macropulos 1944 – 2024
Denise was preceded in death by her beloved husband John F. McCue; her dear parents Thomas and Angeline Macropulos; and her cherished son Peter Maros. She is survived by her devoted daughter Michele Maros; her adored siblings Margo (late Charles) Snoad and George (Denise) Macropulos; her loving godson and nephew Chuck Snoad; and fond nephews and nieces Tom (Jean), Kathy and Steve (Sue) Trebswether; and Phil, Kara and Evan Macropulos.
Among her many wonderful traits, Denise was especially known for her caregiving and service to others, most notably during the years she spent as a member of H.E.A.R.T.S. heart transplant support group of Evanston Hospital. Her husband John received a heart transplant in 1988. Her bubbly personality, positive nature and great sense of humor brought comfort to many transplant patients and their families.
She enjoyed the camaraderie of a large extended family. Always the life of the party, Denise was a kind and generous friend to many. The warmth in her smile and the joy in her laughter will always be remembered. She was stronger than she ever thought possible.
Vistiation Thursday 3-8pm at Kolssak Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Friday 9am until a service at 10am at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church 1449 N Quentin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067. Entombment to follow in All Saints Cemetery Des Plaines, IL.
