Demetrios T. Pirpiris, age 93, of Lincolnwood, passed away peacefully August 17, 2023, in the company of his cherished family. Loving husband of Andrean nee Baffes for 63 years. Devoted father of Anastasia (Steve) Morakalis and Ted (Lydia) Pirpiris. Beloved Papou of Demetrios and Nicole Pirpiris. Cherished brother of the late Vasilios (the late Yiannoula) Pirpiris. Dear brother-in-law of the late George (the late Panagiota) Papadopoulos. He will be fondly remembered as an uncle, cousin, godfather "nouno" and friend of many. A dedicated member of The Order of Ahepa, Demetrios spent decades serving as a leader, fundraiser, and organizer. He was also a proud member of Enosis Demovaltetsiotis, serving as president numerous times. Demetrios was one of the original members of the Greek American Rehabilitation and Care Center in Wheeling and helped transition that vision into a reality. Professionally, he was a skilled mechanic and owner of several gas stations.
