Catherine "Kay" Proksa, age 94 of Mt. Prospect since 1968, passed away on April 26, 2025. Beloved wife of William Proksa for 62 years. Loving mother of Audrey (Quinn) McSorley, Steven Proksa, and John (Mary Jo) Proksa. Adored grandmother of Kristen McSorley and Thomas (Melea) McSorley. Cherished sister of Nicholas (Nancy) Palumbo and John (late Charlotte) Palumbo. Loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Kay was a member of St. Thomas since it was founded in 1968 where she was active both at church and the Women's Guild. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and taking care of her family. Visitation Wednesday, April 30th from 3 pm to 8 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S Milwaukee Ave (2 Blocks South of Dundee Road), Wheeling. Visitation will continue the following day at 10 am at St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church, 1321 N Burning Bush Ln, Mt Prospect. A life celebration mass will follow at 11 am. Interment to follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Little Sisters of the Poor are greatly appreciated.
